StoneStreet Wealth Management was proud to support the Pinky Swear Foundation’s Kids Triathlon on June 2, 2018. Joining 138 other volunteers and 281 participants, StoneStreet helped raise more than $62,500 for the Pinky Swear Foundation.
Started by Steve and Becky Chepokas in honor of their son Mitch who died of bone cancer in 2003, The Pinky Swear Foundation eases the financial and emotional impacts experienced by children with cancer and their families. The foundation provides basic needs support during a very challenging time in a family’s life.
“My family and I were able to help set up the staging area for the triathlon on Friday night and early Saturday morning. The triathlon was well run and the kids did awesome,” John Chidwick said. “There were lot’s of age groups and plenty of support. We look forward to supporting again in 2019!”
According to the foundation’s website, “Cancer is not a one-day thing. It is hard to imagine what life is like to have a child going through cancer; it affects the whole family. That’s why our programs are so important. We do not limit requests from families, nor discriminate on socioeconomic status. When cancer enters life, the simple, everyday things aren’t so simple anymore.”
“What a great event and it was a pleasure to be a part of such a great community event,” Chidwick said. “Susan Ratcliff did a great job promoting the event and went above and beyond with making sure it was a success for the volunteers and participants! We are looking forward to next years event!”
